Privacy Policy for GoFocus
GoFocus ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. All data is stored locally in your browser by default. GoFocus is operated by People Health, a nonprofit focused on technology for social good.
1. What We Collect
GoFocus is designed for minimal data collection. We do not collect or transmit personal information to our servers. Data stored locally in your browser may include:
- Session preferences: Breathing session settings, theme (light/dark), and app preferences.
- Mood data: If you use mood tracking, this is stored locally only.
- Optional email: If you choose to provide an email address, it is stored locally in your browser only.
2. Why We Use It
- To provide and personalize your breathing and meditation experience.
- To remember your preferences between sessions.
- When analytics are enabled by the site operator, to understand how the app is used (see Analytics below).
3. Your Choices
- Local by default: You never have to provide personal information to use GoFocus. All core data stays in your browser.
- Clear data: You can clear your browser’s local storage at any time to remove stored preferences and optional email.
- Analytics: If the site operator enables Google Analytics, you can use browser settings or privacy extensions to limit tracking.
4. Analytics (Optional)
When enabled by the site operator, we may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the app is used—for example, which features are used and how often. No personally identifiable information (such as your email or name) is sent to analytics. IP addresses are anonymized. You can disable analytics via your browser or privacy extensions.
6. Email (Optional)
If you choose to provide your email address, it is stored locally in your browser. In the future, this may be used to send you optional updates and insights, but only with your explicit consent.
7. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, your data remains under your control. You may:
- Access or delete your local data at any time via your browser’s storage settings.
- Opt out of analytics via browser or extension settings when analytics are enabled.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy over time. If changes are significant, we will post a notice on the site and update the Last Updated date above. Continued use of GoFocus after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
